Resources for 2SLGBTQIA+ Students

This page includes resources that provide support to 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals. These resources enable us to build our knowledge and familiarity with positive inclusion and acceptance regardless of how we identify.

indigenous 2Slgbtqi+ resources
    • Provides support, resources, and programming for Indigenous youth (ages 15 to 30) who identify as 2-spirit or LGBTQI+, and for those who are questioning their sexual or gender identities.
    • 2SLGBTQI+ health and wellness services.

    • Provides information on changing your ID.
  • Mental Matters
    • A Vancouver-based support group for 2SLGBTQI+ people with mental health issues. The group meets on the first and third Monday of each month. E-mail mentalmatters@yahoo.ca for more information.
    • A group of queer & trans youth (ages 16-29) who gather to heal and counter stigma about HIV & Hep C.

    • Offers free and low-cost counselling services.
    • Provides financial aid to other charities supporting 2SLBGTQI+ refugees and asylum seekers.
    • Supports people seeking refugee protection in Canada because of persecution based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression (SOGIE), or HIV status. Claims can be made from outside or within Canada.
    • A safe and supportive space for LGBTQI+ Muslims across Canada.
    • A nonprofit society for 2SLGBTQI+ South Asians in the lower mainland.

    • Provides low-barrier wellness and legal services to 2-spirit, transgender, and gender nonconforming individuals.
    • Aims to improve gender-affirming care across BC by supporting the delivery of equitable and accessible care, surgical planning, and peer and community support for trans people across the province.

    • Medical services include hormone starts and stabilization, surgical care planning and referrals and post-operative nursing care.
