The Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) is proud to announce that Shubhparteek Singh, a recent graduate of the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Disaster Management, has been recognized with a from Disaster Recovery Institute Canada (DRI). Singh鈥檚 award-winning capstone project focused on addressing critical challenges faced by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) during disaster response and recovery. The project examined the complexities involved in disaster management practices, such as political interference, communication gaps, coordination issues, and resource allocation challenges, and ways to improve them.
His in-depth literature review of reports, case studies, and academic articles led to practical recommendations to enhance NGO effectiveness. Singh emphasized strategies such as fostering interagency communication, advocating for supportive legislation, and forming strong partnerships for resource distribution.
