Rescinding Credentials
Process
Upon receiving information regarding the possibility of academic misconduct or fraud involved in meeting the credential requirements and, consequently, the awarding of the credential, the Institute will conduct an investigation as per Policy 3207 Student Academic Integrity. If the investigation results in a recommendation to rescind a credential, and the President supports the recommendation, it will be forward to the Board for final determination. Only the Board has the power to rescind a credential.
Transcript Notation
A recommendation to rescind a credential, once reviewed and approved by the Board, will result in a notation on the student鈥檚 transcript that the credential is rescinded including the date that the recommendation to rescind the credential came into effect. If, at some later date, the student is admitted and subsequently completes the credential requirements, the initial notation stating that the credential was conferred will be removed from the transcript as well as the notation that the credential was rescinded. These notations will be replaced with the new date on which the credential was conferred.
